The KENNAMETAL 3769360 is a solid carbide turning insert with an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) PVD coating, designated DCMT3252FP in the ANSI system and DCMT11T308 in the ISO system. It carries the KCU10 grade designation, engineered for high wear resistance across a range from moderate to high demand cutting. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape provides a sharp, positive rake geometry with a 7-degree relief angle and a honed cutting edge. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches, an insert length of 0.9156 inches (11.63 mm), and a corner radius of 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch), this insert is sized for precision finishing passes. It mounts via screw-on holding method and offers two usable cutting edges per insert.
The 3769360 is suited for finishing operations including turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. The FP chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes at shallow depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 0.050 inches (1.25 mm). Primary workpiece material targets include stainless steel and superalloys and titanium, with additional suitability for steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials across material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. The positive side clearance and positive rake design reduce cutting forces and help maintain surface finish quality on demanding materials. This insert is intended for use by machinists and CNC turning specialists in production and job shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style screw-on turning insert conforming to ANSI insert code DCMT3252 and ISO insert code DCMT11T308. Compatible with toolholders designed for DCMT-style screw-on inserts with a 0.1732-inch (4.40 mm) mounting hole. Meets ANSI and ISO standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the mounting screw to avoid cracking the carbide substrate — follow the toolholder manufacturer specifications for screw torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper insert orientation and contact.
