The KENNAMETAL 3769353 is a CPMT3251FP solid carbide turning insert in the KCS10 grade, designed for precision finishing operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a PVD-applied AlTiN coating that delivers high wear resistance across a wide range of workpiece materials, including stainless steel, steel, cast iron, and superalloys. The insert has an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a positive rake angle of 15 degrees and a positive side clearance, promoting clean chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The FP chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing passes. Corner radius measures 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch). Screw-on holding method ensures secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders. This insert is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 5 units.
The 3769353 is suited for finishing operations including turning, facing, and boring on CNC lathes in both job shop and production environments. It is rated for use on steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), aluminum and non-ferrous metals (N), superalloys and titanium (S), and hardened materials (H), making it a versatile multi-material insert. It is especially well-suited for applications where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are the primary requirements over high material removal rates. Compatible with screw-on CPMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO insert standards.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct screw torque as specified by the toolholder manufacturer for the CPMT screw-on interface. Inspect the toolholder pocket and seating surfaces for debris or wear before installing a new insert to ensure proper seating and avoid premature edge failure.
