The KENNAMETAL 3761014 is a solid carbide turning insert in the SNMG432RP geometry, part of the KENLOC series. It carries a multilayer CVD coating — TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process — and is manufactured to grade KCM25. The insert features an ANSI code SNMG432 with a 90-degree square shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. With 8 cutting edges and a negative rake/negative side clearance geometry, this insert is built for roughing and medium machining operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys. Machinists and CNC operators in production turning environments will find this insert well suited for high-metal-removal work where toughness and moderate wear resistance are priorities.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring applications on CNC lathes and turning centers. Its KCM25 grade characteristics target steel (P-class, high toughness) and stainless steel (M-class, moderate wear resistance and toughness), with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium. The RP chip breaker geometry handles roughing and medium machining passes, making it a practical choice for production shops running interrupted or continuous cuts in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. The neutral hand orientation allows use on a wide range of standard toolholders. It can be held by clamp or pin, consistent with KENLOC-style toolholding systems.

Installation is performed by machinist or CNC toolroom personnel. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before clamping. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure for KENLOC-style holders; do not overtighten the clamp screw beyond the holder manufacturer's guidance.
