The KENNAMETAL 3761000 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG432MP geometry, designed for single-point metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied by MTCVD process under the manufacturer grade KCM25. The 80-degree trigon insert shape provides a strong cutting edge with a neutral hand orientation and a negative rake angle of 6 degrees. With an inscribed circle of 0.5 inches, an insert length of 8.69 mm (0.6840 inches), a thickness of 0.1875 inches, and a corner radius of 0.03125 inches, this insert is engineered for precision stock removal and finishing across demanding workpiece materials. It is held in KENLOC-style toolholders using a clamp and pin method.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces in both roughing and semi-finishing applications. The MP chip breaker geometry is optimized to manage chip flow at moderate feeds and depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). It is appropriate for production environments where tool consistency across six cutting edges is required. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shops, aerospace, and general metalworking facilities are the primary installers and users of this insert.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and de-energize the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating surfaces for chips or wear before seating a new insert to ensure accurate positioning and edge integrity.
