Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 3760995 is a VNMG332MP turning insert in grade KCM25, designed for general turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering high toughness on steel and moderate wear-resistance on stainless steel. The 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting geometry with a neutral hand orientation, a negative rake angle, and a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With four available cutting edges per insert, this carbide grade is suited to productive roughing and medium machining applications across a range of ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials.

This insert is engineered for machining steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium in CNC turning centers and manual lathes. The MP chip breaker geometry handles roughing and medium machining cuts, making it appropriate for both interrupted and continuous cuts on tough workpiece materials. The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with KENNAMETAL KENLOC-style toolholders that use clamp or pin insert-holding methods. Licensed machinists, toolroom operators, and CNC programmers specify this insert for production turning cells where consistent edge life on challenging alloys is required.

Key Features

  • KCM25 carbide grade with multilayer CVD TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 coating for toughness on steel and stainless
  • 35-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape for strong, versatile cutting geometry
  • MP chip breaker optimized for roughing and medium machining operations
  • Four cutting edges per insert for extended tooling economy
  • Negative rake, negative side clearance geometry with chamfered and honed cutting edge style
  • Multi-use application: turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring

Compatibility

Designed for use in KENNAMETAL KENLOC-series toolholders that accept VNMG-style inserts held by clamp or pin methods. Conforms to ANSI insert code VNMG332 and ISO insert code VNMG160408.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surfaces are clean and free of chips before clamping. Confirm the clamp or pin is torqued according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker orientation before resuming cuts.
