The KENNAMETAL 3760461 is a solid carbide turning insert designed for high-productivity metal cutting in steel and stainless steel applications. Identified by industry code DNMG432UP, it carries the KCM35 grade and features a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process. The insert has a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 0.03125-inch corner radius. With four cutting edges, a neutral hand orientation, and a honed cutting edge style, it delivers consistent tool life across roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces. Its KCM35 grade is characterized by high toughness for steel (P classification) and moderate wear-resistance with toughness for stainless steel (M classification), making it a versatile choice across a range of workpiece materials and cut conditions. The UP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining, helping manage chip flow and cutting forces at elevated depths of cut.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting DNMG-style inserts with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and negative side clearance. Compatible with ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO insert code DNMG150408 toolholder pockets. Suited for multi-use turning applications on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. The machine spindle must be fully stopped and the toolholder secured before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or clamp screw driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamp or pin holding method. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new cutting edge.
