The KENNAMETAL 3760445 is a SNMG432RP grade KCM35 indexable turning insert designed for steel and stainless steel machining applications. It features a 90-degree square shape with a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, a 3/16-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and carries a multilayer CVD coating consisting of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process. This combination delivers high toughness on steel and moderate wear resistance with toughness on stainless steel. The RP chip breaker geometry is rated for roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists in metalworking and tool-and-die environments specify this insert for production turning, facing, and boring passes.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials. The neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry allow use on standard KENLOC-style toolholders accepting SNMG-style inserts. With eight available cutting edges, the insert delivers a low cost-per-edge in medium to high-volume turning environments. It is dimensionally defined by ANSI code SNMG432 and ISO code SNMG120408, making it cross-referenceable to standard toolholder families on either specification system.

Installation is performed by machinists or tooling technicians on CNC or manual turning centers. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is indexed to a safe position before seating or removing inserts. Use the appropriate KENNAMETAL KENLOC toolholder torque tooling and clamp hardware to secure the insert without over-stressing the carbide body.
