The KENNAMETAL 3760437 is a CNMG434RP indexable turning insert in grade KCM35, designed for steel and stainless steel turning applications on CNC lathes and machining centers. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating - TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD - that delivers high toughness for steel and moderate wear resistance for stainless steel and superalloys. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting edge geometry. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.0625 inch corner radius, and an insert length of 12.90 mm (0.5077 inches), this insert fits standard KENLOC-style toolholders. The RP chip breaker geometry is rated for roughing and medium machining operations.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations in both roughing and medium-duty passes. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P-class), stainless steel (M-class), and superalloys and titanium. It is a neutral-hand insert with a negative rake and negative side clearance, making it compatible with standard CNMG negative-style toolholders. The four-point indexable design allows all four cutting edges to be used before replacement, reducing tooling cost per part. Typical users are CNC machinists and production turning specialists in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing environments.

Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert firmly in the toolholder pocket and verify the chip breaker orientation before securing the clamp or pin. Inspect the insert pocket for wear, debris, or damage before indexing to a fresh cutting edge. Follow the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque specifications for the specific CNMG toolholder in use.
