The KENNAMETAL 3760434 is a WNMG432MP KCM35 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for high-performance metal cutting in CNC and manual lathe applications. It features a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied over a carbide substrate, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to interrupted and continuous cuts. The 80-degree trigon (W) insert shape provides six usable cutting edges, improving cost-per-edge value. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.1875 inch insert thickness, and a 0.0313 inch corner radius, this insert fits standard WNMG432 toolholders in the KENLOC clamping system. A licensed machinist or CNC operator installs and indexes this insert.
This insert is engineered for roughing and medium machining operations including turning, facing, and boring. The KCM35 grade is characterized by high toughness on steel (P-class workpieces) and moderate wear resistance combined with toughness on stainless steel (M-class workpieces). It is also rated for superalloys and titanium as a primary workpiece material. The MP chip breaker geometry controls chip flow across a broad range of depths and feed rates, making this insert well suited to general-purpose production environments where multiple workpiece materials run on the same machine.
Designed for use in WNMG432-compatible toolholders within the KENNAMETAL KENLOC clamping system. Conforms to ANSI insert code WNMG432 and ISO insert code WNMG080402. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces.
Insert indexing and replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Ensure the insert pocket and seat are clean and free of chips before seating the new insert, as debris under the insert will cause premature failure or insert fracture. Clamp or pin torque should follow the toolholder manufacturer specifications - do not over-torque, as this can crack the carbide substrate. Verify runout and tool offset after each index before resuming cutting.
