The KENNAMETAL 3760420 is a DNMG431MP solid carbide turning insert with a KCM35 grade multilayer CVD coating consisting of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape delivers a negative rake geometry with a neutral hand orientation and four usable cutting edges per insert. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert length is 15.5 mm (approximately 1.22 inches), and insert thickness is 3/16 inches. The corner radius is 1/64 inches (0.0156 inches). This insert is engineered for production-level turning operations across steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials, and is installed by machinists and CNC operators on turning centers and lathes.
The MP chip breaker geometry on this insert supports both roughing and medium machining operations. It is applicable to turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. The KCM35 grade is characterized by high toughness for steel (P) workpiece materials and moderate wear resistance with toughness for stainless steel (M) materials, making it a versatile choice for interrupted cuts and variable stock conditions common in job shop and production machining environments. KENLOC series inserts are designed for use with compatible Kennametal toolholders that accept DNMG-style inserts secured via clamp or pin holding methods.
Designed as a KENLOC series OEM-style replacement insert conforming to ANSI code DNMG431 and ISO code DNMG150404, compatible with toolholders accepting DNMG-style inserts secured by clamp or pin holding methods. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys, and titanium.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and Kennametal-specified clamping hardware to secure the insert; improper clamping can cause insert movement and workpiece damage. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or wear before seating a new insert.
