The KENNAMETAL 3760414 is a CNMG432MP indexable turning insert in the KCM35 grade, designed for steel and stainless steel turning applications. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating consisting of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, providing high toughness on steel and moderate wear-resistance on stainless steel and superalloys. It measures 12.90 mm in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 1/32 inch corner radius, and an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape. With four usable cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, this insert fits into the KENNAMETAL KENLOC toolholding system. It is installed by licensed machinists and CNC operators in production turning environments.
The 3760414 is suited for roughing and medium machining operations on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. Typical applications include turning, facing, and boring on CNC lathes and manual turning centers in both job shop and production environments. The MP chip breaker geometry is optimized for moderate to heavy cuts where chip control and edge toughness are priorities. The KCM35 grade delivers reliable performance across a range of depths of cut up to 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm maximum), making it a practical choice for interrupted and continuous cuts on difficult materials.
Designed for use in KENNAMETAL KENLOC series toolholders that accept CNMG432 indexable inserts with clamp or pin clamping. Meets ANSI insert code CNMG432 and ISO insert code CNMG120408. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate KENNAMETAL KENLOC clamping hardware and torque the insert clamp or pin to the toolholder manufacturer's specified value as listed in the toolholder documentation. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper contact and cutting edge alignment.
