The KENNAMETAL 3760296 is a solid carbide screw-on turning insert with ANSI designation DPMT2151LF and ISO designation DPMT070204. It carries the KCM25 grade and features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with positive rake geometry and a 0.0156-inch corner radius makes this insert well-suited for finishing and light machining passes. With an inscribed circle of 0.25 inches and an insert length of 7.75 mm, it delivers consistent chip control in demanding turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert in compatible screw-on toolholders.
This insert is intended for use on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpieces, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes P and M, with secondary material code S. The KCM25 grade is characterized by high toughness for steel applications and moderate wear resistance with toughness for stainless steel. It is appropriate for finishing and light machining operations in both production and jobshop environments. The LF chip breaker geometry controls chips effectively at light depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm. This insert suits CNC lathes and manual turning centers running continuous or semi-continuous cuts on precision components.
Designed as an OEM-style screw-on turning insert conforming to ANSI insert code DPMT2151 and ISO insert code DPMT070204, suitable for use in DPMT-style screw-on toolholders meeting the corresponding ANSI and ISO standards.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC service technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine tool and release any residual spindle motion before changing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque; do not overtighten, as this can fracture carbide. Inspect the toolholder pocket for wear or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper contact and runout.
