The KENNAMETAL 3758134 is a CNMA432 indexable turning insert in the KCK20 grade, designed for high-productivity metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. This solid carbide insert features a multilayer PVD coating of AlTiN and AlCrN, delivering hard, wear-resistant cutting edges suited for interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert measures 12.90 mm (0.5077 inches) in length, carries a 1/2-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The 80-degree diamond shape and negative rake geometry provide strong edge support. Four available cutting edges per insert reduce tooling cost per part, making this a practical choice for production turning environments.
This insert is engineered for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. The flat-top chip breaker geometry and honed cutting edge style suit stable, rigid setups where predictable chip control and edge life are priorities. It is part of the KENLOC series and is held by clamp or pin-type toolholders. Typical users include CNC machinists, toolroom operators, and production turning technicians running high-volume or precision-grade programs. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P) and cast iron (K), per ISO material classification codes.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine before seating or indexing the insert. Ensure the toolholder pocket and clamping surfaces are clean and free of chips before inserting. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specification for the clamping screw - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide substrate.
