The KENNAMETAL 3758065 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMG432UP geometry, grade KCM15, designed for high-productivity metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to interrupted and continuous cuts. It measures 15.5 mm in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 3/16 inch thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. The 55-degree diamond (D-shape) geometry and UP chip breaker are optimized for roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed HVAC techs and machinists in production turning environments rely on this insert for consistent tool life on steel and stainless applications.
The 3758065 is intended for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. Primary workpiece materials include steel (P), stainless steel (M), and superalloys and titanium (S). The KCM15 grade characteristics provide moderate to high wear resistance with controlled toughness, making it suitable for both stable and moderately interrupted cutting conditions in production shops and job shops running ferrous and exotic alloys. The insert is neutral-handed and accepts clamp or pin holding methods in KENLOC-compatible toolholders.
Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders accepting DNMG432 geometry inserts. Conforms to ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO insert code DNMG150408. Material grades C2 and C3 apply. Suitable for primary workpiece materials coded P, M, and S per ISO classification.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate KENLOC clamp or pin retention hardware specified for DNMG432 inserts to ensure proper seating and edge security. Inspect the pocket and clamping components for wear or debris before indexing to a new cutting edge. This insert is intended for installation by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following shop safety procedures.
