The KENNAMETAL 3758043 is a TNMG332RP solid carbide turning insert in grade KCM15, designed for high-productivity turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC and manual lathes. The insert features a multilayer MTCVD coating combining TiCN and Al2O3 for wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of cutting conditions. The 60-degree triangular geometry provides 6 usable cutting edges per insert, and the RP chip breaker with a chamfered and honed cutting edge delivers controlled chip formation. It carries a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/32-inch corner radius, and a negative rake geometry suited to heavy interrupted and continuous cuts. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC operators in precision metalworking environments.
This insert is engineered for primary use on steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium workpiece materials (ISO material codes P, M, and S). It belongs to the KENLOC series and is held in the toolholder by clamp and pin methods. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and boring on production or job-shop lathes. The maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches), making it well suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes. It conforms to ANSI and ISO insert standards under the TNMG332RP industry standard number.

Installation is performed by machinists using the appropriate KENLOC clamp-and-pin toolholder system. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the insert securely — do not overtighten by hand or with improvised tools. Inspect the insert pocket for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new insert to maintain dimensional accuracy.
