The KENNAMETAL 3757917 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CCMW432 geometry, grade KCK20, designed for high-wear-resistance machining of steel and cast iron. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a positive rake angle, a flat-top chip breaker, and a honed cutting edge style for consistent performance in turning, facing, and boring operations. The multilayer AlTiN/AlCrN PVD coating provides thermal stability and surface hardness suited to dry or light-coolant cutting conditions. With two usable cutting edges and a screw-on holding method, this insert is a standard choice for CNC lathe toolholders in production machining environments.
This insert is intended for use in turning, facing, and boring applications on steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) workpiece materials. It targets high wear-resistance requirements on steel and moderate to high wear-resistance requirements on cast iron. The CCMW432 geometry fits screw-on toolholders designed for the ANSI CCMW432 or ISO CCMW120408 insert seat. Typical applications include finish to semi-finish turning passes in job shop and production environments where dimensional consistency and tool life are priorities.

Compatible with toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, 3/16-inch thick, 80-degree diamond insert with positive clearance. Suitable for steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) workpiece materials across turning, facing, and boring operations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is secured before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder specification; follow the toolholder manufacturer torque guidance, not a generic value. Inspect the insert pocket and clamping screw for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate seating and prevent premature edge failure.
