The KENNAMETAL 3757587 is a CNMG432UN geometry turning insert in the KCK20 grade, designed for high-productivity turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron. The insert features a solid carbide substrate with a multilayer PVD coating combining AlTiN and AlCrN layers, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The 80-degree diamond shape provides a strong, rigid cutting geometry suited to medium and roughing passes. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.03125 inch corner radius, this insert fits standard CNMG toolholders and produces consistent surface finishes across a range of material grades. It carries four usable cutting edges, reducing per-edge tooling cost in high-volume turning cells.
This insert is engineered for turning steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. It is appropriate for both roughing and semi-finishing applications where a negative rake, chamfered and honed cutting edge style provides controlled chip formation. The UN chip breaker geometry handles general turning, facing, and boring in production environments. It is compatible with KENLOC series clamping systems using clamp and pin holding methods. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom operators running horizontal and vertical turning centers in job shop and production settings.
Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders accepting CNMG432 inserts with clamp and pin holding. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K). Meets ANSI and ISO insert standards for CNMG432 geometry.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed with the machine powered down and spindle locked. Ensure the insert pocket and locating pin are clean and free of chips before seating the insert to prevent rocking or improper seating. Use the correct torque wrench and KENLOC clamping hardware as specified by the toolholder manufacturer. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for damage before each use; a damaged edge on a four-edge insert does not indicate all remaining edges are compromised.
