The KENNAMETAL 3755715 is a WNMG332MP solid carbide turning insert in the KCM15 grade, designed for external and internal turning operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys. The insert features a multilayer MTCVD TiCN and Al2O3 coating that delivers a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to moderate roughing and medium machining applications. With an 80-degree trigon shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/32-inch corner radius, this insert provides six usable cutting edges per insert. It is held by clamp or pin in KENLOC-compatible toolholders and is installed by machinists and CNC turning center operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on P-group steels and M-group stainless steels, with secondary suitability for S-group superalloys and titanium. The MP chip breaker geometry is optimized for roughing and medium machining passes where controlled chip evacuation and edge toughness matter. The chamfered and honed cutting edge style reduces edge micro-chipping under interrupted or variable-load cuts. Typical applications include shaft turning, flange facing, and light boring in both high-production CNC environments and manual lathe setups.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series WNMG toolholders. Conforms to ANSI insert code WNMG332 and ISO insert code WNMG060408. Suitable for toolholders accepting negative-rake, 80-degree trigon inserts with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and clamp or pin retention.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamp or pin fastener to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edge and chip breaker for seating before resuming cuts. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and the toolholder manufacturer's guidelines when setting tool offsets after indexing.
