The KENNAMETAL 3755685 is a CNMG432MP turning insert in grade KCM15, designed for high-performance turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, applied via MTCVD process, combining moderate wear resistance with toughness suited for roughing and medium machining passes. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a strong cutting geometry with four usable cutting edges. At 0.5077 inches (12.90 mm) in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.0313-inch corner radius, this insert fits standard KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMG432 geometry.
This insert is intended for CNC lathe and turning center applications in production and job-shop environments. Its neutral hand orientation and negative rake geometry make it compatible with a wide range of CNMG toolholders used in both light and heavy stock removal. The KCM15 grade targets steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) workpiece materials as primary applications, with superalloys and titanium (ISO S) as a secondary application. Roughing and medium-cut chip-breaker geometry (MP designation) suits interrupted or continuous cuts where controlled chip flow and edge security are priorities. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and CNC operators in machine shop settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production insert for CNMG432 geometry toolholders in the KENNAMETAL KENLOC series. Conforms to ANSI insert code CNMG432 and ISO insert code CNMG120408. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and superalloys including titanium.
This insert is installed and indexed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or indexing the insert. Use the appropriate CNMG toolholder wrench or key to secure the clamp or pin per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and edge repeatability.
