The KENNAMETAL 3755684 is a CNMG431MP indexable turning insert in the KCM15 grade, designed for steel and stainless steel turning, facing, and boring operations. Built from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer MTCVD TiCN and Al2O3 coating, it balances moderate wear resistance with toughness to handle both roughing and medium machining passes. The insert features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 0.5-inch inscribed circle, and a 1/64-inch corner radius. With four usable cutting edges and a neutral hand orientation, it delivers consistent performance across a variety of CNC lathe setups. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This insert is rated for primary use on steel (P-grade workpieces) and stainless steel (M-grade workpieces), with secondary suitability for superalloys and titanium (S-grade). The MP chip breaker geometry supports roughing and medium machining applications, making it a practical choice for high-material-removal roughing passes as well as transitional medium-cut operations. The KENLOC series designation indicates compatibility with KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMG-style inserts held by clamp or pin. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches) under recommended conditions.

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamp or pin to avoid micro-fracture at the cutting edge. Verify proper seating and torque the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before resuming cuts.
