The KENNAMETAL 3755672 is a DCMT3251MF screw-on turning insert in grade KCM15, manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process. The insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and a 5/32-inch insert thickness. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and medium machining operations. With 2 cutting edges, positive rake, positive side clearance, and chamfered-and-honed cutting edge style, this insert is suited for high-productivity turning applications in steel and stainless steel. Licensed ANSI and ISO standards apply. It is installed and used by machinists and CNC turning specialists in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is designed for external and internal turning applications including facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. The KCM15 grade targets steel (P) workpiece materials requiring moderate wear resistance and toughness, and stainless steel (M) workpiece materials requiring high to moderate wear resistance with toughness. Secondary fitment includes superalloys and titanium (S). The screw-on holding method provides repeatable indexing in compatible DCMT-style toolholders. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm. This insert suits CNC lathes and manual turning centers in both high-volume production and precision finishing contexts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for screw-on DCMT-style turning insert seats in toolholders conforming to ANSI insert code DCMT3251 and ISO insert code DCMT11T304. Suitable for toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, 5/32-inch thickness insert with a screw-on holding method.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC turning technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified insert screw when securing the screw-on fastener to avoid insert seat damage. Inspect the pocket and clamp screw for wear before seating a new insert, and verify clearance angles match the programmed toolpath before resuming cuts.
