The KENNAMETAL 3755492 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation DPMT3251LF and ISO designation DPMT11T304, coated with a multilayer PVD AlTiN/AlCrN coating for high wear resistance. It features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, and a positive side clearance. The insert carries grade KCK20 with an LF chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing and light machining operations. With an inscribed circle of 0.375 inches, a corner radius of 0.0156 inches, and a cutting edge style of honed, this insert is suited to precision material removal in steel and cast iron applications. Installation is performed by a licensed machinist or tooling technician using the screw-on holding method.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel and cast iron workpiece materials. Its KCK20 grade delivers high wear resistance on steel (P classification) and high to moderate wear resistance with toughness on cast iron (K classification). The LF chip breaker geometry targets finishing and light machining passes where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are the primary objectives. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a range of DPMT-compatible toolholders.

This insert is installed and indexed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and screw size specified by the toolholder manufacturer to seat the screw-on insert properly - over-tightening can fracture the carbide insert body. Inspect the pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
