The KENNAMETAL 3753794 is a VNMG331MN KCP30 grade solid carbide turning insert coated with a multilayer TiN/TiCN/Al2O3 MTCVD CVD process. Part of the KENLOC series, it features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape with a negative rake angle and neutral hand orientation. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches, the insert length is 1.3076 inches (16.61 mm), and the corner radius is 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch). Designed for grade categories C5 and C6, it provides moderate wear resistance and toughness for steel and stainless steel machining. CNC machinists and turning center operators install this insert in KENLOC-style toolholders using clamp or pin holding methods.
This insert is suited for roughing and medium machining operations on steel (P-grade workpieces) and stainless steel (M-grade workpieces). Multi-use applications include turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. With four cutting edges per insert and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, it is appropriate for production environments where a single insert geometry covers a range of lathe and turning center operations. The MN chip breaker geometry is optimized for chip control across these application types.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting VNMG style inserts. Conforms to ANSI insert code VNMG331 and ISO insert code VNMG160404. Suitable for steel (P) and stainless steel (M) primary workpiece materials per grade classification.
Installation is performed by CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Secure the insert using the appropriate clamp or pin holding hardware specified for the KENLOC toolholder; do not overtighten the clamp screw beyond toolholder manufacturer torque guidance. Inspect the insert seat and clamp pocket for chips or debris before seating a new insert to ensure proper clamping force and edge registration.
