The KENNAMETAL 3753784 is a SNMG322MN KCP30 grade solid carbide turning insert designed for external turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating stack of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited to interrupted and continuous cuts in steel and stainless steel. The 90-degree square shape provides 8 usable cutting edges, maximizing tool life per insert. The MN chip breaker geometry is rated for roughing and medium machining applications. This insert is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
The 3753784 targets steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) workpiece materials where moderate wear resistance combined with toughness is required. The KCP30 grade is characterized by balanced properties for steel with moderate wear resistance and toughness through high toughness, making it a practical choice for variable stock removal and inconsistent surface conditions. The negative rake, negative side clearance geometry is compatible with KENLOC-style clamp and pin insert-holding systems. Typical applications include shaft turning, facing of flanges, and boring of housings in steel and austenitic stainless steel components.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders and other SNMG-compatible insert pockets utilizing clamp or pin retention. Fits toolholders accepting an SNMG322 insert with a 3/8 inch inscribed circle and 1/8 inch thickness. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for SNMG090308 insert geometry.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten the clamp screw, as this can fracture the insert or distort the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating a new cutting edge.
