The KENNAMETAL 3753781 is a DNMG431MN turning insert in grade KCP30, designed for external and internal turning operations on CNC lathes and machining centers. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating consisting of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process. This coating stack delivers moderate wear resistance combined with high toughness, making the insert well suited to interrupted cuts and variable-condition passes. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape provides a useful combination of edge strength and access angle. At 15.5 mm in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 1/64-inch corner radius, this insert seats into KENLOC-style toolholders and is positioned and held by clamp and pin. Machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments install and index this insert.
The MN chip breaker geometry is rated for roughing and medium machining operations. Primary workpiece material classifications are Steel (P) and Stainless Steel (M), where the KCP30 grade provides a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness appropriate for those material groups. The insert geometry is neutral-hand with a negative rake and negative side clearance, consistent with DNMG toolholder seating. Multi-use applications include turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring. With four cutting edges per insert, the 3753781 offers extended tool life per unit on high-volume turning programs.

Insert indexing and replacement is performed by the CNC operator or machinist with the spindle stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the insert fully against all pocket surfaces before tightening the clamp; an improperly seated insert can fracture under cutting load. Inspect the insert pocket for carbide debris from the previous edge before seating a fresh edge. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque specification for the clamping screw.
