The KENNAMETAL 3753727 is a CCMT-style solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal removal in CNC turning, facing, and boring operations. Manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards, this insert carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MT-CVD process using the KCP25 grade designation. It features an 80-degree diamond shape, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, and a honed cutting edge style for consistent performance on steel and cast iron workpieces. The insert holds two usable cutting edges per piece and is retained by a screw-on holding method, making it a standard fit for compatible screw-seat toolholders used in production turning environments.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring applications on steel and cast iron, covering ISO material codes P and K. It is suited for both roughing and finishing passes at shallow depths, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The LF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip evacuation in light-to-moderate feed applications. It is typically installed on CNC lathes and turning centers in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments by machinists and CNC operators working to close tolerances.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production insert for screw-on CCMT toolholders. Compatible with toolholders accepting a CCMT 2151 insert seat per ANSI and ISO standards. ISO equivalent insert code is CCMT120404LF.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators using the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat and torque the clamping screw into the toolholder pocket. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Ensure the insert seat and clamping screw are free of chips and debris before seating the insert to avoid micro-fracture at the cutting edge. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut rating for this insert geometry.
