Product Description

The KENNAMETAL 3753664 is a WNMG432RN turning insert in the KCP30 grade, designed for general-purpose metal cutting in CNC and manual turning applications. The insert is made from solid carbide and features a multilayer CVD coating system consisting of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MT-CVD process. This coating stack delivers thermal resistance and wear resistance suited for continuous and interrupted cuts in steel. The insert measures 8.69 mm in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.03125 inch corner radius. It carries a negative rake angle and a chamfered and honed cutting edge style, with six usable cutting edges per insert. Part of the KENLOC series, it is held in place by clamp or pin-type toolholders.

This insert is rated primarily for steel workpiece materials (ISO material group P) and is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations in both roughing and semi-finishing passes. The RN chip breaker geometry controls chip flow effectively across a range of feed rates and depths of cut. The maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inch). It is used by machinists and CNC turning specialists in job shop and production environments where consistent tool life on steel is a priority. The ANSI and ISO standards compliance means it seats correctly in standard WNMG-style toolholders from multiple manufacturers.

Key Features

  • Multilayer CVD coating: TiN / TiCN / Al2O3 for wear and thermal resistance on steel
  • Six cutting edges per insert for extended tool economy
  • RN chip breaker geometry for controlled chip evacuation during turning and facing
  • Chamfered and honed cutting edge style for edge strength and reduced micro-chipping
  • Compatible with clamp and pin insert holding methods
  • Meets ANSI and ISO standards for WNMG-style insert seating

Compatibility

Designed as a direct-fit replacement in WNMG432-style toolholders that accept clamp or pin holding methods. Conforms to ANSI and ISO standards for WNMG insert geometry, making it interchangeable in compliant toolholder blocks across the KENLOC series and equivalent third-party systems.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not over-tighten the clamp screw, as this can fracture the insert. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
