The KENNAMETAL 3753654 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation TNMG332RN and ISO designation TNMG160408, operating under the KCP30 manufacturer grade within the KENLOC series. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited for steel and stainless steel machining. It has a 60-degree triangle shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake and relief angle. The insert measures 16.5 mm (0.6496 inches) in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It is designed for use in turning, facing, and boring operations and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC and manual turning applications.
This insert is rated for roughing and medium machining operations on steel (P-grade) and stainless steel (M-grade) workpiece materials, providing moderate wear resistance and toughness at both ends of the cut cycle. With six cutting edges available per insert and compatibility with both clamp and pin holding methods, it fits standard KENLOC-style toolholders. The negative side clearance and chamfered and honed cutting edge style make it well suited for interrupted cuts and moderate material removal rates where edge stability is critical. It is appropriate for both production-volume turning and general shop turning work.

Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when securing the insert — do not over-tighten the clamp screw. Inspect the insert seat and clamp for chips or debris before seating a new edge, as contamination can cause premature edge failure or insert breakage.
