The KENNAMETAL 3753650 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI code SNMG642RN and manufacturer grade KCP30. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of wear resistance and toughness suited for steel and stainless steel workpieces. The insert features a 90-degree square shape with a 0.75-inch inscribed circle, a 0.03125-inch corner radius, and a negative rake and side clearance geometry. Eight cutting edges are available per insert, maximizing tool life per unit. Chip breaker designation RN is designed for roughing and medium machining operations in the KENNAMETAL KENLOC series.
This insert is intended for CNC and manual turning centers performing turning, facing, and boring operations. It is suited for moderate to high material removal rates in steel (ISO P) and stainless steel (ISO M) applications where a combination of moderate wear resistance and toughness is required. The KENLOC series insert is held by clamp or pin-style toolholding systems, making it compatible with standard SNMG-style toolholders used in production and job-shop environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, general machining, and component manufacturing are the primary users.
Designed as an OEM-grade replacement and standard-fit insert for SNMG-style toolholders using KENLOC clamping systems. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and stainless steel workpieces per ISO material groups P and M.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Seat the insert firmly against the toolholder pocket locating surfaces before tightening the clamp or pin to manufacturer-specified toolholder torque requirements. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before each insert change to maintain accurate positioning and safe cutting conditions.
