The KENNAMETAL 3753523 is a round solid carbide turning insert in the RNMG64RN geometry, manufactured under the KCP25 grade and part of the KENLOC series. It features a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, delivering a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness suited to steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous materials. The insert carries a 3/4-inch inscribed circle, a 3/8-inch corner radius, and 1/4-inch thickness. With 8 cutting edges and a full-radius round shape, this insert offers high indexing economy in roughing and medium machining operations. Licensed machinists and CNC lathe operators install this insert in turning, facing, and boring applications.
This insert fits turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both roughing and medium machining passes. The KCP25 grade is engineered for P-class and N-class workpiece materials, making it appropriate for general-purpose production turning on CNC lathes in job shop and production environments. The RNMG geometry with a neutral hand orientation allows flexible positioning in compatible toolholders. The RN chip breaker geometry supports chip control across a range of feed and depth-of-cut conditions up to 0.0492 inches maximum depth of cut.
Designed for use in KENLOC series toolholders and other clamp- or pin-style holders that accept RNMG64 round inserts. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Insert holding method is clamp and pin.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians during CNC lathe or manual lathe setup. Power down and lock out the machine before indexing or replacing the insert. Seat the insert fully and evenly in the toolholder pocket before tightening the clamping screw or pin to avoid micro-fracture at the cutting edge. Inspect the toolholder pocket for debris or wear before seating a new insert.
