The KENNAMETAL 3753431 is a TPMT3252MF screw-on turning insert manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer MTCVD TiCN and Al2O3 coating under the KCP25 grade designation. The insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a positive rake angle, positive side clearance, and an MF chip breaker geometry optimized for finishing and medium machining operations. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.3750 inches), the corner radius is 1/32 inches (0.0313 inches), and overall insert length is 0.6496 inches (16.50 mm). Three cutting edges are available per insert. This insert is intended for use by machinists and CNC operators running turning, facing, and boring operations on lathes and turning centers.
The KENNAMETAL 3753431 is suited for turning steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials in both light finishing passes and moderate medium-machining cuts. The KCP25 grade delivers a balance of wear resistance and toughness appropriate for steel (ISO P workpieces) and non-ferrous materials (ISO N workpieces). Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The MF chip breaker geometry supports controlled chip formation at tighter depths of cut and feed rates typical of finishing work. This insert applies equally to manual lathe work and programmed CNC turning cycles where consistent surface finish is required.
Designed for use in screw-on TPMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI and ISO insert seating standards. Compatible with turning, facing, and boring applications across lathe and turning center platforms accepting TPMT3252 insert geometry.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC operator with the machine spindle stopped and all motion axes at rest. Seat the insert fully into the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the seating face and chip breaker for debris before securing the insert. Verify insert orientation and cutting edge selection before resuming machine operation.
