The KENNAMETAL 3753415 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CPMT3252MF geometry, manufactured to ANSI and ISO standards and graded KCP25. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, providing moderate wear-resistance and toughness suited for steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape delivers a strong cutting edge geometry, while the MF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and medium machining operations. The insert measures 9.67 mm (0.3808 inches) in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch corner radius. It is held in place via a screw-on method and features a positive rake and positive side clearance for clean, efficient chip evacuation.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and machining centers used in production environments. It is suited for both residential shop use and industrial production settings where consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy are required on steel and non-ferrous workpieces. The neutral hand orientation makes it adaptable across a range of toolholder setups. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to torque the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer specification - do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before each insert change to ensure proper seating and accurate tool geometry.
