The KENNAMETAL 3753357 is a TNMG543RN-style indexable carbide turning insert with a KCP10 multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3. Designed for external and internal metal cutting operations, this insert features a 60-degree triangular shape with a negative rake and negative side clearance, providing six usable cutting edges per insert. The 5/8-inch inscribed circle and 3/64-inch corner radius suit medium-duty to roughing passes. The KCP10 grade delivers high wear resistance on steel and moderate wear resistance with strong toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Licensed HVAC, machining, and toolroom professionals install this insert into KENLOC-compatible turning tool holders on CNC and manual lathes.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both roughing and medium machining applications. The RN chip breaker geometry manages chip flow across a broad feed and depth-of-cut range. With a maximum depth of cut of 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm), it is positioned for general production turning where consistent edge life and dimensional control are priorities. The insert is held by clamp or pin methods, fitting standard TNMG holder configurations found in production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in KENLOC series turning tool holders accepting TNMG-style inserts with a 5/8-inch inscribed circle, 1/4-inch thickness, and clamp or pin holding methods. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamp screws when seating the insert in the holder pocket - do not over-tighten with improvised tools. Inspect the pocket seat and clamp for wear or debris before installing a new edge, as a contaminated seat will cause premature edge failure and dimensional drift.
