The KENNAMETAL 3753348 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG432RN geometry, part of the KENLOC series. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, targeting wear resistance and thermal stability during interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert features an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a negative rake angle with a chamfered and honed cutting edge. With a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 0.03125 inch corner radius, this insert is sized for moderate-depth turning operations on steel and cast iron. Licensed HVAC techs do not install this part - it is installed by machinists and CNC operators in metalworking environments.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. The CNMG geometry with RN chip breaker geometry handles a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The clamp and pin holding method makes it compatible with standard KENLOC-style toolholders designed for CNMG-style inserts. It fits production and job-shop CNC lathes handling general-purpose external and internal turning applications. Insert seating and replacement is performed by a machinist or CNC operator. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified for the toolholder to avoid insert movement or breakage during cutting. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert.
