The KENNAMETAL 3753257 is a solid carbide turning insert in the WNMG432MN geometry with KCP10 grade designation. It features an 80-degree trigon (W-shape) with a negative rake angle and 0-degree relief, making it well suited to heavy-engagement roughing and medium machining operations. The insert carries a multilayer CVD coating - TiCN base with an Al2O3 top layer applied via MTCVD process - delivering high wear resistance on steel and moderate wear resistance with toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches, insert length is 0.684 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.0313 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in KENLOC-compatible toolholders.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring operations in production and job-shop environments. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO material group P), with secondary applicability to aluminum and non-ferrous materials (ISO group N). The MN chip breaker geometry handles roughing and medium machining chip loads effectively. With six cutting edges available per insert, it delivers extended tool life per piece in high-cycle CNC turning centers and manual lathes running moderate-to-aggressive depths of cut. Maximum depth of cut is 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm).
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting WNMG432 geometry inserts with clamp or pin holding. Conforms to ANSI standard WNMG432 and ISO standard WNMG080402 for dimensional interchangeability with compatible tooling systems.
Installation is performed by qualified CNC machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid insert seat damage - refer to the toolholder manufacturer's documentation for fastener specifications. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before seating a new edge.
