The KENNAMETAL 3753212 is a CNMG432FN indexable turning insert in the KCP10 grade, designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual turning applications. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide with a multilayer MTCVD TiCN and Al2O3 coating, providing wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts. It features a diamond 80-degree included angle, a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.03125 inch corner radius, and a honed cutting edge. The negative rake geometry and FN chip breaker work together to control chip flow across a broad range of feed rates and depths of cut. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians typically select this insert for high-productivity roughing and semi-finishing operations.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, corresponding to ISO material groups P and K. The KENLOC series geometry is optimized for moderate to heavy material removal where chip control and edge security are critical. The insert seats in CNMG-style toolholders using a clamp and pin holding method, which is standard on most KENLOC-compatible boring bars and external turning tool bodies. The FN chip breaker geometry performs across a range of depths, with a rated maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches).
Designed as an OEM-style replacement insert for CNMG432-style toolholders using clamp and pin clamping in the KENLOC series. Compatible toolholders accept a 0.5 inch inscribed circle CNMG insert with a 3/16 inch thickness and a 0.2031 inch hole diameter. Primary workpiece materials are steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K).
This insert is installed and indexed by licensed machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque wrench and manufacturer-specified clamping hardware for the CNMG toolholder to ensure the insert seats fully against the pocket walls. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a fresh edge, and never use a damaged or cracked insert.
