The KENNAMETAL 3752210 is a VNMG332UN grade KCK15 solid carbide turning insert designed for high-wear-resistance applications on steel and cast iron workpieces. It features a multilayer CVD coating - TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process - that delivers hardness and thermal stability at the cutting edge. The insert has a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a negative rake angle, and a neutral hand orientation. With 4 cutting edges and a chamfered and honed edge style, it is suited for roughing and medium machining operations. The insert belongs to Kennametal's KENLOC series and conforms to both ANSI and ISO standards.
This insert is used in turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. It is engineered for primary workpiece materials coded P (steel) and K (cast iron), with secondary compatibility for N-code (non-ferrous) materials. The UN chip breaker geometry is designed to manage chip flow across roughing and medium-duty cuts. Machinists in job shops, production turning environments, and maintenance facilities working with steel and cast iron components are the primary installers and users of this insert.
Designed for use in VNMG-style toolholders that accept a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert with clamp or pin holding. Conforms to ANSI insert code VNMG332 and ISO insert code VNMG160408. Part of the Kennametal KENLOC series tooling system.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert firmly in the toolholder pocket and secure with the appropriate clamp or pin before verifying torque on the clamping screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating a new edge. Do not exceed the maximum depth of cut for the insert geometry.
