The KENNAMETAL 3752039 is a solid carbide screw-on turning insert in the SCMT3252MF geometry, grade KCK15, with a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3. The insert features a 3/8 inch inscribed circle, a 1/32 inch corner radius, and a 90-degree square shape with a positive rake and positive side clearance. The MF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and medium machining operations. Four usable cutting edges and a chamfered, honed cutting edge style extend tool life on demanding materials. This insert is installed and changed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in turning center and lathe applications.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both production and job-shop environments. The KCK15 grade delivers high wear resistance on steel (ISO P workpiece material) and a balance of wear resistance to toughness on cast iron (ISO K workpiece material). Maximum depth of cut is 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm), making it appropriate for light to medium finishing passes where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are priorities. The screw-on holding method provides secure, repeatable seating in compatible toolholders.
Designed for use in screw-on SCMT-style toolholders accepting a 3/8 inch inscribed circle square insert. Conforms to ANSI insert code SCMT3252 and ISO insert code SCMT09T308. Compatible with toolholders designed for SCMT09T3 series inserts. Multi-use application covers turning, facing, and boring.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. De-energize and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key at the manufacturer-specified screw torque for the toolholder - do not overtighten the clamping screw, as this can fracture the insert or damage the pocket seat. Inspect the toolholder pocket and clamping screw for wear or damage before seating a new insert.
