The KENNAMETAL 3752032 is a solid carbide turning insert with ANSI designation CPMT2152MF and ISO designation CPMT060208, grade KCK15. It features a multilayer CVD coating sequence of TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering high wear-resistance across steel and cast iron workpiece materials. The insert measures 6.45 mm (0.2539 inches) in length with a 0.25-inch inscribed circle and a 1/32-inch (0.0313-inch) corner radius. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, positive rake geometry, and MF chip breaker make this insert well suited for finishing and medium machining operations. Machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert using the screw-on holding method.
This insert is intended for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO K) workpieces, with secondary suitability for non-ferrous materials (ISO N). The MF chip breaker geometry targets finishing and medium machining passes where controlled chip evacuation and surface finish consistency are priorities. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The neutral hand orientation and chamfered, honed cutting edge style make this insert compatible with a broad range of screw-on toolholders in production turning environments, both CNC and manual.
Designed for use in screw-on style turning toolholders accepting CPMT-style inserts per ANSI and ISO standards. Insert replacement is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians following standard CNC or manual lathe lockout and tool-change procedures. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key specified for the toolholder clamp screw — do not overtighten, as this can fracture the carbide insert. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips before seating the new insert. Verify depth-of-cut and feed rate settings do not exceed the maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm before resuming the cut.
