The KENNAMETAL 3751945 is a solid carbide turning insert in the CNMG431FN geometry, grade KCK05, designed for high-wear-resistance machining of steel and cast iron. It carries a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied by MTCVD process, delivering thermal resistance and edge retention in finishing operations. This insert is installed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing inserts. Use the correct torx or insert-clamp screw driver as specified by the toolholder manufacturer - do not overtighten the clamp, as this can fracture the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket and locating pin for wear or debris before seating the insert, and verify that the insert is fully seated before resuming cuts.
