The KENNAMETAL 3751910 is a solid carbide turning insert in the DNMA432 geometry, grade KCK05, designed for high-performance metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, which provides wear resistance and thermal stability during continuous and interrupted cuts in steel and cast iron. The 55-degree diamond shape (DNMA) delivers a strong cutting edge suitable for roughing and semi-finishing passes. At 15.5 mm in length with a 0.5-inch inscribed circle and a 0.03125-inch corner radius, this insert fits standard KENLOC-style toolholders with clamp and pin retention.
This insert is used in turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces. It is suited for both residential shop and industrial production environments where consistent chip control and tool life are priorities. The flat-top chip breaker and honed cutting edge make it appropriate for moderate to heavy material removal on ferrous materials. The negative rake geometry and neutral hand orientation allow flexible placement in a range of DNMA-compatible toolholder setups.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders that accept DNMA-style inserts with clamp and pin retention. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P) and cast iron (K); secondary application is non-ferrous materials (N). Suitable for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret is in a safe index position before seating or replacing the insert. Use the correct clamp and pin hardware specified for DNMA432 KENLOC toolholders; do not overtighten the clamp screw beyond the toolholder manufacturer's torque specification. Inspect the seating pocket for chips or debris before securing the insert to ensure proper contact and edge alignment.
