The KENNAMETAL 3751703 is a CCMT3251UF-style indexable turning insert in grade KCP25, designed for precision metal-cutting operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. The insert is manufactured from solid carbide and features a multilayer MTCVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, delivering a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness suited to steel and cast iron applications. It carries an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 1/64-inch corner radius, and an insert length of 9.67 mm (0.3808 inches). The screw-on holding method and UF chip breaker geometry are optimized for finishing passes. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces, as well as aluminum and non-ferrous materials where moderate wear resistance and toughness are required. The UF chip breaker geometry is engineered for finishing-depth cuts, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The positive rake angle of 5 degrees and positive side clearance support clean chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces, making this insert effective in light-to-moderate finishing applications on both P- and N-class workpiece materials per ISO classification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit insert for screw-on CCMT-style toolholders conforming to ANSI insert code CCMT3251 and ISO insert code CCMT09T304. This insert is compatible with multi-use applications including turning, facing, and boring.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC toolroom technician with the machine powered down and the spindle locked. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installation to ensure proper seating and runout. Never attempt to index or replace inserts while the machine is running or the turret is energized.
