The KENNAMETAL 3751633 is a DNMG432MW solid carbide turning insert in the KCP25 grade, designed for high-productivity metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering moderate wear resistance and toughness across a broad range of workpiece materials. The insert measures 15.5 mm in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle, a 0.1875 inch thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. The 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and negative rake geometry are suited to rigid setups where insert stability and edge security are priorities. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this insert using clamp and pin holding methods in KENLOC-compatible toolholders.
This insert is rated for steel (ISO P) and cast iron (ISO N) applications, with grade characteristics emphasizing moderate wear resistance and toughness for steel and moderate wear resistance to high toughness for aluminum and non-ferrous materials. It is used in turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring operations. The MW chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium machining conditions, and the wiper edge design supports improved surface finish at higher feed rates. Maximum depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). With four available cutting edges, the insert provides extended tool life per unit compared to single-edge designs.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders that accept DNMG-style inserts with clamp and pin holding. Conforms to ANSI insert code DNMG432 and ISO insert code DNMG150408. Suitable for ANSI size code 432 and ISO size code 150408 toolholder pockets.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the correct torque wrench and clamp hardware specified for the KENLOC toolholder to seat the insert properly against the pocket. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before installation to avoid insert rocking or premature edge failure.
