The KENNAMETAL 3751618 is a CNMG433MW KCP25 grade turning insert designed for general and medium machining operations on steel and cast iron. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, balancing moderate wear resistance with toughness. It measures 12.90 mm (0.5077 inches) in length with a 0.5 inch inscribed circle and a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch) corner radius. The 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and negative rake geometry suit high-force, stable cutting conditions. The MW wiper chip breaker geometry is optimized for medium stock removal with improved surface finish. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production turning environments are the primary users of this insert.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel and cast iron workpieces in both light and moderate production environments. It is compatible with KENLOC-style toolholders that accept CNMG433 geometry inserts. The negative side clearance and four available cutting edges make it a cost-effective choice for high-volume turning cells. Grade KCP25 is rated for steel (P) and aluminum and non-ferrous (N) workpiece materials requiring moderate wear resistance and toughness. Maximum recommended depth of cut is 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches) per pass under standard conditions.
Designed for use in KENLOC-series toolholders accepting CNMG433 (ANSI) or CNMG120412 (ISO) insert geometry with clamp or pin holding. Suitable for turning, facing, and boring of steel and cast iron workpieces. Compatible with material grades C2, C3, C6, and C7.
Insert seating and clamping should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician with the machine in a fully stopped and locked-out state before any insert change. Ensure the insert pocket and seating surface are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert. Use the appropriate KENLOC clamp or pin mechanism as specified by the toolholder manufacturer to achieve correct clamping force. Do not exceed the rated maximum depth of cut for the insert geometry and workpiece material combination.
