The KENNAMETAL 3751604 is a TPMT2152LF-style solid carbide turning insert in the KCP25 grade, designed for precision metal removal in CNC and manual turning applications. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3 applied via MTCVD process, delivering a balance of moderate wear resistance and toughness suited to steel and cast iron workpieces. The insert measures 11 millimeters in length with a 0.25 inch inscribed circle diameter, a 0.0938 inch thickness, and a 1/32 inch corner radius. Three cutting edges are available per insert. The LF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and light machining passes. A licensed HVAC or machining technician installs this as part of a screw-on toolholder system.
This insert is built for turning, facing, and boring operations across steel and aluminum or non-ferrous materials. The positive rake angle of 5 degrees and honed cutting edge style reduce cutting forces during light finishing cuts, making it well suited to close-tolerance work on steel (ISO material group P) and aluminum or non-ferrous (ISO material group N) components. It conforms to ANSI insert code TPMT2152 and ISO insert code TPMT110208, and fits standard TPMT screw-on toolholders used in production turning centers and manual lathes in job shop and production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-compatible replacement conforming to ANSI insert code TPMT2152 and ISO insert code TPMT110208. Fits standard TPMT screw-on toolholders. Suitable for primary workpiece materials designated under ISO codes P (steel, cast iron) and N (aluminum and non-ferrous). Material grades C2, C3, C6, and C7 apply per input data.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torque screwdriver or insert key to secure the screw-on fastener - do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide substrate. Inspect the toolholder pocket for chips or debris before seating a new edge.
