The KENNAMETAL 3751582 is a DCMT3252LF KCP25-grade solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and turning centers. It features a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN and Al2O3, applied via MTCVD process, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across a broad range of cutting conditions. The insert measures 11.63 mm in length with a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, a 5/32-inch thickness, and a 1/32-inch corner radius. The diamond 55-degree geometry and LF chip breaker promote clean chip evacuation on steel and cast iron. This is a screw-on style insert with a neutral hand orientation and a honed cutting edge for consistent, repeatable performance.
This insert is suited for general-purpose turning operations in both production and job-shop environments. Its positive rake angle of 5 degrees and 7-degree relief angle make it effective for turning, facing, boring, back turning, and back boring applications. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material codes P and K. It is appropriate for use by machinists and CNC operators working with light to moderate depths of cut, with a maximum depth of cut of 1.25 mm (0.0492 inches). The KCP25 grade is a general-purpose carbide grade well-matched to interrupted and continuous cuts on ferrous materials.
Designed for use in screw-on DCMT-style toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch inscribed circle insert. Conforms to ANSI and ISO industry standards for DCMT insert geometry. Verify holder compatibility with clearance code C and tolerance code M before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the correct torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to torque the clamping screw - do not overtighten, as carbide inserts are brittle and can fracture under excessive clamp force. Inspect the insert pocket for chips or debris before seating the new insert to ensure proper seating and accurate edge registration.
