The KENNAMETAL 3751580 is a CPMT3252LF-style solid carbide turning insert with a multilayer TiCN and Al2O3 CVD coating in the KCP25 grade. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) insert shape, a positive rake angle of 5 degrees, and an 11-degree relief angle with positive side clearance. The inscribed circle measures 3/8 inches (0.375 inches), insert length is 9.67 mm (0.3808 inches), and thickness is 5/32 inches (0.1563 inches). The LF chip breaker is optimized for finishing and light machining operations. Installation and use are performed by machinists and CNC turning specialists working on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials.
This insert is designed for turning, facing, and boring applications in both steel and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The KCP25 grade delivers moderate wear resistance and toughness, making it well suited to steel (ISO P) and aluminum and non-ferrous (ISO N) material groups. It mounts via screw-on holding method and provides two cutting edges per insert, reducing per-edge tooling cost. Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the turret or tool post is locked out before indexing or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate Torx or hex key to seat the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified procedure; do not overtighten. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before mounting to maintain accurate insert position and prevent premature edge failure.
