The KENNAMETAL 3749444 is a CCMT3253MF screw-on turning insert manufactured in solid carbide with a multilayer MTCVD-applied TiCN and Al2O3 coating under the KCP10 grade designation. It features an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shape, a 3/8-inch inscribed circle, and a 3/64-inch corner radius with chamfered and honed cutting edges. The MF chip breaker geometry is optimized for finishing and medium machining operations. With positive rake and positive side clearance, this insert delivers high wear resistance on steel and moderate wear resistance with toughness on aluminum and non-ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and CNC turning specialists install this insert in screw-on toolholders for precision metal removal.
This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. Its KCP10 grade characteristics make it a strong performer in high wear-resistance applications on steel (P-class) and a capable option for aluminum and non-ferrous (N-class) work requiring a balance of toughness and wear resistance. The neutral hand orientation allows use in a wide range of screw-on toolholder configurations common in production and job-shop CNC turning centers. Maximum depth of cut is 0.0492 inches (1.25 mm), positioning this insert firmly in the finishing and light-to-medium machining range.
