The KENNAMETAL 3747126 is a 4-inch indexable chamfer angle face mill designed for high-performance face milling operations on machining centers and milling machines. Built on the KSHR platform, this cutter accommodates 6 HNGJ 535ANENLD inserts secured by screw-holding for positive insert retention and repeatable edge positioning. The 45-degree chamfer geometry produces a chamfered edge on workpieces in a single pass. Maximum depth of cut is 4.5 mm (0.177 inches), and the cutter supports spindle speeds up to 6300 RPM. Through-coolant capability directs fluid directly to the cutting zone for improved chip evacuation and tool life in demanding applications.
This face mill suits production machining environments where consistent chamfering and face milling of steel, cast iron, and similar materials is required. The extra-coarse pitch spacing of the 6-flute body reduces cutting forces at higher feed rates, making it appropriate for moderate to heavy material removal on horizontal and vertical machining centers. The right-hand cutting direction and 1-1/4-inch arbor hole are standard for a wide range of spindle configurations. Licensed machinists and CNC setup technicians are the typical installers and operators of this tooling.
Designed for use with HNGJ 535ANENLD inserts. Part of the KSHR series cutter platform. Fits machine spindles and adapters accepting a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole. Consult KENNAMETAL insert selection guides for grade and coating selection based on workpiece material.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the cutter body or inserts. Verify arbor and adapter runout with a dial indicator before full-depth cutting passes. Use the correct Torx or hex key driver specified for the insert screw torque to avoid stripping — refer to KENNAMETAL tooling documentation for the applicable fastener specification.
