The KENNAMETAL 3660432 is a solid carbide roughing finishing end mill designed for aggressive material removal with a refined surface finish in a single operation. Built to ABDF series standards, it features a 0.625 inch mill diameter, 2 flutes, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced cutting forces. The square end geometry and micrograin carbide substrate deliver edge strength and wear resistance in demanding milling applications. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and runs right-hand flute direction with right-hand cutting. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in job shop, toolroom, and production machining environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a combination of roughing stock removal and finishing surface quality is required. The bright uncoated finish makes it a straightforward choice for applications where coating compatibility with specific cutting fluids or materials is a consideration. With a 1.25 inch length of cut and 3.5 inch overall length, it fits standard tool holders for vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. No extended reach is incorporated, keeping the tool rigid and reducing deflection at depth.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application solid carbide end mill for standard straight-shank tool holders accepting a 5/8 inch shank diameter in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. The straight shank requires a collet or end mill holder sized for 5/8 inch shank diameter; verify runout with a dial indicator before operation. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the material being machined. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and replace the tool when edge condition deteriorates.
